When in Rome (Image 1 / 3)
Commission for the City of Rome, NY to enhance the Art Walk Corridor after being awarded the New York State of Brownfield Opportunity Funding.
Inspired by the determination and innovation of the people of Rome, NY, the arrangement of interactive and dynamic glowing resin sculptures top varying height steel columns. The sculptures are lit with interior LED cast in lighting for a dramatic evening presence.
The colors of the sculptures are inspired by Rome’s connection to water and the rich coppery patina of the steel columns references Rome’s reputation as the “Copper City”.
Installation in process as of February 2025

Hoodoos (Image 1 / 2)
Inspired by its namesake geological wonders that I visited as a kid at Bryce Canyon, UT. These dramatic rock formations are very sculptural and often look like figures or animals. The color of Hoodoos is a reference to the waters that carved them and is also a celebration of the human spirit, inner light, and life.
Materials: Hand-tinted solid cast resin and CORTEN Steel.
Three of this limited edition of nine have been made in 2019 and exhibited continuously ever since in cities around the U.S. Currently, one has been acquired by the City of Rome, NY; one is on loan for 2 years to the public art collection of the city of Peoria, IL and the third is on tour to various cities such as Palm Desert, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; Springfield, MO; Olathe, KS; Orlando, FL and New York, NY (pictured)

Anne Frank Memorial
Winning proposal for the new Anne Frank Memorial at the Clinton Presidential Library i Little Rock, AR.
Completed in 2024, installation pending site preparation.
Consists of large bronze sculpture of a broken bough of a Horse Chestnut Tree, just like the one Anne gazed at daily from her hiding place. The broken branch symbolizes all the lives lost in the Holocaust and the near-circular cast cement riser under it is a reference to the geometry of the Star of David. The branch includes a welcoming quote across the central arch where visitors enter the space to look up together at the new growth branches reaching to the sky and the single blossoming bud, representing the hope that Anne represents for us now and in the future and offering an opportunity to practice empathy while learning about her life.
